Abstract

The present study has been conducted to identify and differentiate the voice of two or more biological sisters who may be involved in such criminal telephonic conversations. This study is an attempt for speaker recognition and voice comparison of siblings using a voice biometric software. Some words from 40 female siblings voice sampleswere extracted, analysed, and compared using gold wave and multi-speechsoftware. Voice characterisation was done from spectrograms by comparing the voice samples. The similarities obtained in the voice samples of 2 sisters may help the investigator to reach the suspected person if one of them are involved in threatening or kidnapping calls after the voice comparison. The outcomes of this study proved that voice samples are individualistic in nature even in case of biological sisters which will help forensic investigators to track the suspected person involved in criminal telephonicconversations.
