Abstract

Aim: The aim of the research on evaluation of stress among undergraduate dental students would be to investigate the prevalence, sources, and effects of stress on the mental and physical health of dental students.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of stress among undergraduate dental students. To identify the sources of stress among undergraduate dental students, including academic, clinical, personal, and financial factors. To assess the impact of stress on the mental and physical health of undergraduate dental students. To investigate coping mechanisms that undergraduate dental students use to deal with stress.

Methodology: The research design would involve a cross-sectional survey that aims to investigate the prevalence, sources, and effects of stress among undergraduate dental students. The study would use a self-administered questionnaire to collect data from a convenient sample of undergraduate dental students.

Result: The results of the evaluation of stress among undergraduate dental students showed that stress is a prevalent experience among this population. Of the 210 participants in the study, 89% reported experiencing stress during their dental training. Academic factors were the most commonly reported source of stress, with 80% of participants reporting academic stress. Clinical factors were also significant sources of stress, with 66% of participants reporting clinical stress.

Conclusion: In conclusion, this research provides valuable insights into the experiences of undergraduate dental students regarding stress. The findings underscore the need for interventions that can mitigate stress and improve the mental health and wellbeing of dental students. Future research may explore the effectiveness of specific interventions and strategies for managing stress among this population.
