Abstract

The effectiveness of corrosion inhibition based on the organic compound 2,7-dimethyl-2,7-dicyanide-3,6-diazaoctan (MAD-20) was studied on low-carbon steel in 15% H2SO4 solution. The samples were exposed in a 15% H2SO4 solution without an inhibitor and with different concentrations of MAD-20 inhibitors. Weight loss measurements, scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to study the inhibitory effects of MAD-20. It has been shown that the MAD-20 inhibitor is an effective inhibitor of acid corrosion.
