Abstract

With the growing demand of thermophilic fungi as a promising source of respective enzymes and biomolecules, this study was aimed for the efficient isolation and identification of heat-adapted fungi from easily accessible, thermogenic substrates. Different substrates such as coal mines soil, Birds nest, soil from brick kiln, Decomposing litter were collected for the isolation and characterization of several fungi. Then the percentage of incidence, frequency, and abundance of thermophilic fungi was assessed. Aspergillus fumigatus, Rhizopus, Acremonium alabamensis, and Mucor were observed from all the samples, they were proved to be thermotolerant.
