Abstract

In this project, benzilic acid was used as a synthone  for some  novel 1,3,4-oxadiazoline (5a-e) which are prepared in good yields from the cyclizing reactions of  novel hydrazones  (4a-e) by using acetic anhydride, in which are synthesis from benzilic acid  hydrazide (3)  . These derivatives were tested in vitro for their antifungal efficacy against Candida albicans, Rhodotorula sp., and Meyerozyma caribbica. In addition to physical measures, the freshly synthesized hydrazones and 1,3,4-oxadiazoline are structurally characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy.
